Door of Hope || New Volunteer

Thank you for signing up to serve on Sundays!

This survey is for both the Welcome Ministries teams as well as the Media Teams.

My name is Chelsea and I oversee Door of Hope's Sunday Welcome Ministry teams, whereas Evan Way coordinates the schedules for worship team, the slides and video team.

I'd be happy to connect on a Sunday in person to answer any additional questions you might have, and continuing the process of getting you connected to one of our Sunday teams. My email will be at the end of this survey as well as on the Door of Hope staff page.

Looking forward to serving with you!

Cheers,
Chels

Welcome Ministry Teams //

Take your time to look over each team and pick what stands out to you!
Mark whichever Welcome Ministry Team (or teams) below that you'd like to serve on and the Service (or services) you are available for.

Feel free to mark down multiple teams!

Facilitate the purchase of books & music and answer questions about the different ministries and events taking place at Door of Hope. The bookstore is the first stop for lots of visitors and first time attenders. Help them feel welcomed and get connected.

The Coffee team aides in creating a hospitable atmosphere by offering fresh brewed coffee to all Sunday church attendees. The coffee team takes care of all of the practical tasks associated with preparing coffee and tea while also welcoming attendees and connecting them to any additional resources they may be seeking.

Communion is an integral part of our Sunday gathering as a celebration of the sacrament that celebrates the body and blood of Christ. The elements of communion are then visible words that convey the teaching of Jesus concerning redemption. Having the bread and cup prayed over before every service is vital to our gatherings.

Greeting team is where knowing and being known at Door of Hope starts. If you are someone who loves to greet people by name, introduce yourself to stranger, and connect people with common interests, this is the team for you! Help us make all people who come to Door of Hope- weather for the first time or 100th time- feel loved and welcomed!

Help us keep an eye out for any threatening situations, first aid needs, and be the point person incase of the need for an evacuation. Safety team members also are our main observers of the children's ministry area to insure no kiddos exit their classrooms unattended/ parents or other adults enter classrooms without pre-approval.

Generosity is a discipline that we practice as a community. One way we encourage our community to be generous is by volunteering, and another is through giving of our finances. Giving is intended to be a voluntary, un-coerced, and joyful act of recognition that everything we have is a generous gift from God, and a way of supporting the church — which enables Door of Hope to continue to do the work of ministry, support community and outreach partners, stay in this building, pay staff, and even have coffee on Sunday mornings. Door of Hope takes people’s financial gifts seriously and seeks to steward them accordingly, viewing them as the Lord’s money to be used for the Lord’s work.
We believe generosity is an act of worship, so we’re incorporating passing a collection basket during our Sunday morning worship gathering. To do this we’re also asking for folks to give of their time to volunteer as an Usher and collect the tithe on Sundays.
We plan to add more communion tables to the sanctuary which will help alleviate congestion in the Rotunda and aisles. We’ll have Ushers walk along the aisles after the sermon, during the second-to-last song of worship, to collect tithe.

Media Teams //

Take your time to look over each team and pick what stands out to you!
Mark whichever Media Team (or teams) below that you'd like to serve on and the Service (or services) you are available for.

Feel free to mark down multiple teams!

Come early before service to coordinate song lyrics with the worship team and notes/visual aids with the speaking pastor as well as any announcements. Follow along during the service to correctly display each slide for worship and the sermon.

This team focuses on helping those viewing the service online to engage with the worship and sermon. It includes setting up the livestream, troubleshooting any streaming issues, and helping bring clarity for online viewers.

Prayer Team //

If you like to pray for others in the comfort of your own home, this is the team for you! At this point, it feels like the intercessory team flies a bit under the radar for our church community. We would love if everyone was helping to inform people of this great opportunity for prayer.
Once per month, each member of the intercessory team will take ownership over a day of prayer for the church. This can look a number of ways, but the goal is to commit the day to ongoing prayer, both for the needs of the church that have come up recently, and for a designated subject of prayer.

Once again, thank you for giving your time and energy to creating an atmosphere of hospitality at DOH.

My greatest desire is for every volunteer to experience a deepening fellowship with the community, their team, and Jesus through serving on Sundays. If you know anyone wanting to get plugged into serving at DOH feel free to send them my way!

We could ALWAYS use more volunteers!

Cheers,
Chels
